Nick Isgro (former Vice-Chair of the Maine GOP and former Mayor of Waterville, ME) has repeatedly shown bigotry in his public statements. His social media profiles have painted an even darker picture. Nick Isgro liked, followed, and belonged to dozens of pages and groups filled with hate speech. The content included in those sites contained Holocaust denial, calls for a religious war against Muslims, and proposals to send Black people "back to Africa". They regularly post vile images and hate speech that is racist, sexist, and homophobic. Nick Isgro shared posts from some of those pages that included Neo-Nazi slogans. Through his non-profit, Restore Maine's Future, Mr. Isgro has shared posts attacking everyone from intersex people to refugees. His racism, bigotry, and the language of white nationalism are front and center in this group's messaging. Recent posts have promoted "white genocide" theory (AKA great replacement). This notoriously anti-Semitic and racist theory is shared by David Duke and Richard Spencer. It was also the inspiration behind the Tree of Life shooting and the "Jews will not replace us" chant at Charlottesville. Nick Isgro has also made dangerous claims that Maine's children were being "force vaccinated" to "make way for waves of migrants".
Nick Isgro has currently stepped away from politics.
We are keeping this site up as an archive for now. We are sincere in our hope that Mr. Isgro learns and grows as a person and one day denounces white nationalism.
